5.1 Sound on asus p5n-e sli HELP!!!???

Hi there

I have just got a P5N-E SLI board and it is all set up however I have just gone to plug in my 5.1 system which the boards spec on scan says that it takes and there is just the one audio in port for me to play with. Do I need to buy somthing seperate or have I made a booboo somewhere?!

Help please, I must have sound!!

Hmm think I have got 2 speakers and the sub to work. Will do more tests over the weekend. If anyone has any ideas let me know.

How are you connecting it? If it's optical/digital-coax then you'll probably have to change an option in the driver software to give you surround sound. If you are just using standard 3.5mm jacks then you'll need 3 lots to get 5.1 sound across.

What speakers and connections are you using? Should help other people help you

Im using some old creative sound speakers I have had lying around! Yeah I have 3 3.5mm jacks and I have a mic port, a line out and a sound in port. I have looked at my motherboard manual and it says that I just use those 3 ports in a certain order. I dont think I have got it right yet though :S
