Thermalright announces MOSFET coolers

Decided to get one, the U version, Got it & fitted it yesterday.

The Box

What u get
It's quiet a clever package. 2 size of mossfets are catered for. The size that fits your mobo becomes the base whilst the unusewd side becomes the "sail" through which the heatpipe disapates heat.

It's a good package easy to fit, just selsect the thermal pad for the right mossfet size & stick it on the base. Slide on the clips that have the push pins on, & mount on mobo. Easy.

What suprised me was the thickness of the thermal pad. it must be abourt 10 times that of the original strip that was attached to the heatpipe on my commando.

B4 Key value - PWM = 29.5C

After PWM =22C


So 7C reduction works for me I must admit I did think it would be taller, from the pics i had seen, but for a short arse it works extremely well

Looks well nice though. Will be idea for when I drop watercooling on mine in a few weeks.

It will be interesting to see how they cope with the heat of a quad core. The thick thermal pad is a bit off putting though, I wonder what thats all about?

U can get much thinner stuff like this I suppose http://www.chilledpc.co.uk/shop/prod...roducts_id=158 , obviously I wudnt know if it wud work aswell. Ive been waiting to see who got the HR-09 and how it performs, looks like they do well then. Glad cos now I dont have to WC the mosfets, unless ur like Clunk and ur OC a Quad, might have probs with that as I dont think it wud be enuf

yep well must admit took them quickly using auto settings, must get round to reading up on the macro settings which are supposed to do for close ups

Right basically instead of creating a new thread Ill piggy back on this one.

Right Im after abit of confirmation on wether or not this cooler would fit on a Quad gt now I know people have said "no" but I dont honestly see why not as the tech drawings I've got show it to be 61mm without the clips but I need it to be 65mm with the clips now is this possible with abit of dremel action or do I have to go get a waterblock at £30 as my pwms are idle at 90 and loading at 110c today (damn hot weather) with some swiftech ram sinks and a 60mm fan on full tilt.
