the catch is driver support is pretty much over, since the company behind the chip have folded

True, though you still get 750gb of storage with a RAID card for less than the price of a 750gb disk, and the card has been out for some time, so I'm sure the drivers are fairly mature by now.Quote:

there was a 5 port card as well (i have one) but they must have run out of the chips as you can't get them any more.
i have one in the main desktop. i wish someone would tak up updating the firmware but they quite good especially for the price. and yeah i was going for the 5 port version but it was disc before i could get
