    Quiet PSU?

    I currently own a tagan 530w PSU I've had it for a while and its fine no problems with it except for 1 its noisy. It sounds like a jet taxi-ing around an airport. Is there any quiet PSU's you can recommend that will be able to power a nice 8800gtx (when I get one).

    OCZ GameXstream 700W is rather quiet.

    I can't hear it over the case fans, and the case fans are silent

    (you can get 600W versions aswell)

    Just got a Corsair HX620W today and it's near silent. Plenty powerful enough for a 8800 GTX.

    i'd go with the ocz..i don't think i've ever heard mine.

    The warranty has a very quick turn around too..and the CS are very quick to respond.

    I have a Hiper Type R...it WAS silent for about 6 months, now its a little noisy, so avoid these.

    Depends on percentage power with most modern PSUs. I've just fitted a Seasonic S12 330W (on idle it's at 91W, so on it's 'efficiency plateau' and can barely hear it even with my ear against the oulet - also the outflow is only about 5&#176;C above ambient.
    The bigger Seasonics have more heatsink, so the fan stays slow - IIRC, the fan ramps up from about 60% load.
