    P5B Deluxe Sata help

Well Ive been puttin together my system since 2pm today. Yes its taken long but so many hassles along the way.
Anyway, so I need help cos I cudnt install the Sata drivers before Xp install. I need to know a few things like:
    1. Shud the floppy be formatted in Fat(think this was main prob with the disk I made)
    2. When I make a Sata floppy it gives me 2 options, 32 bit and 64 bit. But in the manual it says this refers to the Cpu, so shud I do the 64 bit as Im assuming a C2D E6600 is 64 bit even though its on XP 32 bit.
    3. If im not using the Jmicron sata ports do I have to install the Sata drivers for it or shud I just disable and only install the Sata drivers for Intel?

I really need the help cos I want to get this sorted tonight Thanking U

    You have install SATA drivers?

I must admit I've never done that, at least I don't think I have.

    Do you mean RAID drivers?

    * 1. DETERMINING THE PROCESSOR TYPE
    ************************************************************

You will first need to determine if your system contains a
    32-bit or 64-bit processor.

    1. On the Start menu:
1a. For Windows* 2000, select Settings and then
    select Control Panel.
1b. For Windows* XP or later operating systems,
    select Control Panel.
1c. Open the 'System' applet (you may first have to
    select 'Switch to Classic View').

    2. Select the 'Hardware' tab.

    3. Select the 'Device Manager' button.

    4. The processor type will be indicated by the value under
the 'Computer' section on the 'General' tab.
    4a. On a 64-bit system, Intel(R) Itanium or Intel(R) Itanium 2
or Intel(R) Pentium 4 will appear.
    4b. On a 32-bit system, a value other than Intel(R) Itanium or
    Intel(R) Itanium 2 will appear.
Ok well thats what it says, thats y i asked if I needed to install the 64 bit as Im assuming the C2D is 64 bit right? And yes this is for the Raid

If you run a 32bit OS the processor is not using its 64Bit capabilities, so the e6600 will effectively be a 32bit CPU for your purposes.

I maybe wrong, but please correct me if I am.

    the e6600 is x86-64 which means it's both a 32bit and a 64bit CPU.

You will be using as 32bit is you use a 32bit OS

What is it that you are trying to do exactly? set up a raid array, or just install a sata disk?

Ok, well its confirmed now, it depends on the OS and not the CPU, its just the manual is typically confusing

Have you set up the drives in the raid bios bit?

Yeah I did that when I first tried, the confusing bit was when I made the floppy Raid disk with the Asus program, it asked whether I wanted it in 64bit or 32bit, and it said in the manual to check if the Cpu was 32/64bit, but it only depends on the Os and not the Cpu. It was just the floppy I was stuck on, the rest I know how to do btw its a nice board, got my TR Extreme on it which took about an hour to put on, I was using the wrong bolts
