Core2Quad overclocking

Hi,
I'm thinking about building a server for vmware, xen and a few other bits. As it's going to cost quite a bit anyway, I was thinking of transplanting my 8800GTX in there and using it for games too.

Do the quad core Intel chips overclock as easily as the core2duo ones?

They get a lot hotter for a start so you will need better cooling, but they do clock well like their dual core siblings. Check clunks various threads, he's got a Q6600 to 3.8GHz.

on the right mobos they do, on others you typically only get ~330fsb.
P35 chipset is looking good.

For overclocking a quad, you need good cooling.

And I agree with Buff, the P35 chipset is looking better by the day
