About a decade ago I think it was Microsoft that came up with the idea of having a plastic bay on the front of the PC with a USB connector at the back so even the most novice of PC users could just slide a peripheral into the PC, including hard drives. Called Device Bay, it never took off. Pity really.

I prefer SATA-Power connectors for they're ease of putting on taking off and they've never come off by accident for me. However I don't like having seperate connectors rather than a universal one like the molex.

I quite like the new connections. The new one is a bit too easy to get out, but I think I prefer that to the old molex which sometimes needed a LOT of force to get - and a bit of wiggling.

Sometimes that was no big deal, but when I wanted to remove it from a drive inside my PC... it could sometimes be a nightmare. I remember when I replaced my old CD Rom with a DVD-RW, and I couldnt get the bloody thing off But yeah... it is a bit TOO easy to get off. It should definitely have a clip.

What I LOVE however, is the new data cables. They too can come off a bit easily I suppose, but I just love how they are so easy to connect. The ones on the old IDE disks where a nightmare for me. I had a disk which had some slightly bent pins, and it made it a nightmare to plug that stupid cable into it. And I had another disk, which lost a whole pin when I took the data cable off it... I was gentle too, it just must have been a loose pin in the middle. These new L shaped things are the way to go.
