Burnt out my Asus P5b mobo

hi, its sad, but i just burnt out my new ASUS P5B mobo. I know this, because the pins on the 775 socket are bent and damaged. I took my CPU, memory and graphics card to a friend who found these items to be working fine, so its definately the mobo as the power and fans come on but no POST beeps or anything.

So now that the mobo is screwed, can someone kindly please recommend a mobo upto a max of £70 inc vat from here:-

    http://www.cclonline.com/product-lis...e=s&perpage=99

This shop is local to me, so its easier to buy here.

    Thanks for your help.

wen i got this mobo, the pins looked a bit dodgy, but me being an idiot, ignored them. Today when i took out the CPU to add new arctic thermal, i placed the cpu on the mobo socket and powered up. The power came on, but no beeps. I took out the cpu to see that 2 pins on the mobo in two different places were bent and crossing over each other.

I'm trying to straighten them as we speak.

Oh NO!! A bit too late clunk mate!! I've tried sorting the pins out and after having a go at straightening them, I decided to connect the pc to see if i had solved the problem.

Instead of some power, now I get absolutely no power...NOTHING AT ALL!! Have I killed the PSU too? or is it just the mobo?

Just to clarify, I have connected everything correctly, such as power ATX cables and 4-pin connector. There is no led light as before on the mobo.

Doubt the PSU is bust, u probably just broke the socket and now there is no connection at all. They are delicate, thats y its best to just RMA it.

Might have killed the cpu, but most likely just the board. RMA time.

    Where was it from?

RMA is basically sending back the board to wherever u bought it from and they will send u a new, is it new and still under guarantee?

yes, its only 2 weeks old, but surely they won't refund for the damage to pins? They'll simply blame me.

because they'll say that i've had it for 2 weeks and also there are minor marks of thermal paste and the HSF backplate too.

If it came like that then its not ur fault. Some places might try and fix the board themselves or give u a dodgy product that some1 has sent in broken or damaged, and just hope that it works somehow. I had to RMA 2 things this week cos they were both dodgy, and I received them back all sealed in plastic straight from the factory(others were obviously opened before cos there was no plastic sealing it). Its just luck sometimes. Say that it came that way and u tried to install it last night but nothing happened, ignorance is bliss

when you guys say return the product, are you saying send it back to the manufacturer or the retailer?
