plenty of people off here have bought from him
Thanks for that I saw his site earlier and he has them in stock too. Unfortunately it worked out about the same price. I think its about a quid cheaper from him, but I just figured it would be best to buy from JabTech seeing as they are more well known.

I can just about afford a tenner though anyway, so its not too bad Luckily when I added the second fan, the price didnt go up much, so it works out quite good. I might even get some other junk to pad it out a bit.

Thanks I've seen some good reviews of those too. I'll do another search before I make my mind up anyway.

Tuniq Tower 129 has closely fitted - dense - fins. I currently have the standard fan that came with it and speed is controlled by a pot mounted in back of the case. I would rather have PWM to save faffing about. I am trying to get an Arctic Cooling AF12025 PWM but have had no joy locating stockist..

I have 3 off no 6 (YATE LOON 120mm Case Fan - D12SH-12) so I could try one. They are only a couple of quid in the USA the price in Europe it outragious in comparisson!

Strange thing is that the CPU temps seem to be pretty unaffected wherether fan is fast or slow...!!!

Hi EtheAv8r,
maybe it's me & my clocks but on the Therrmalriight Ulltra i did get distinctly different temps depending on the fan speed setting.

I've read other people say the same about the tuniq, it may be something to do with the unique design, where the fan is in the centre, with the fans wrapped round it.

yep don't think there was much between the tuniq tower & the previous thermalright ultra. One thing that needs to be remembered with most thermalright coolers, fans are user provided. I think this leads to many variations in results seen in forums & in particular in reviews.

I think the Ultra with a decent fan was pretty good, tking probably less real estate than the tuniiq.

The extreme adds heatpipes + abaility 2 mount 2 fans in push/pull gives an improvement of around 3C i think on ultra.

Sounds daft but i think long term water cooling saves £, u get out of the cycle u describe.

Of course you might want to look at this

Need advice on buying these suckers.

I was about to buy from JabTech but they only take credit cards or some other wierd method (fax something). I don't have a credit card

I also looked on that ebay shop someone linked earlier, but he only takes payment via direct transfer which EBAY says you shouldn't do. (I think).

So basically, I don't know where to buy the fan from I could get the lower speed Yate Loons from here though:
http://www.chilledpc.co.uk/shop/prod...products_id=48

But they have a max 1350RPM. My current fan runs at exactly 1350rpm... but very rarely, it goes up to 2000 or so when the CPU is under load. With a much better heatsink, I am wondering if I might get by with the 1350rpm yate loon? Or am I setting myself up for trouble with that?

What im thinking, is that I could buy that 1350RPM yate loon because its only £3.99. I could see what my temps are like with that, and if they are low, I am sorted If not, I could use the fan from my Arctic Cooling 7 Pro until I can find a high speed Yate Loon.

Does that seem like a good plan? Or not?

Thanks

p.s. Does anyone have any experience of these things:
http://www.specialtech.co.uk/spshop/...cat=519&page=1

I saw someone talking about them on the internet and they said its the best fan they have ever used. But that doesn't mean much if they haven't used many fans

Sod, what Ebay and Paypal tell you, they dont care if you get ripped off, as long as they take their cut. Youll probably find more and more sellers dropping paypal, due to there being no seller protection whatsoever, despite them claiming otherwise.

Jabtech take debit cards, I have used mine twice in the last few weeks.

Specialtech had some yate loons in, not sure what model they are though.

How did you get the debit card option at JabTech? For me it says:

PayPal
Credit Card - Visa, Master Card, American Express, Discover
Fax Ordering
Money Order - US Banks Only
Business Check - Drawn on US Bank and in US Dollars

As for the "silencio_777" guy, it says at the bottom of his page on ebay:

Wire transfer/Direct debit
Cash on Collection
COD (Cash On Delivery)

Cash is not an option cause he is in Europe somewhere, and I'm not sure if direct debit is safe really. And I'm not sure I can contact him about using PayPal or anything else, cause I'm not sure if he speaks English or not.

As for SpecialTech and other places, do you guys reckon I might be ok with a 1350RPM Yate Loon? (on a Thermalright 120 Ultra Extreme). Like I said, thats what my current heatsink/fan runs at, but it sometimes goes higher than that - very rarely though. Do you think it would be worth trying anyway? Cause I can get the lower speed fans from several places in the UK.

Yes those are alternatives, paypal is the main one by default.

Ahhh ok cool thanks. I dont have PayPal but I might be able to use my brother's.

I'm thinking I might just try a lower RPM Yate Loon though. I can get those from a few places in the UK. And if its not fast enough, I can always get a higher speed one.

Just choose whatever your card is, unless its one of the odd uk only ones, and then youll have to do paypal.
