    External hard drive chassis

Is it possible to have an external hard drive chassis where I can put two sata hard drives, plug them into my computer via esata (if thats plug and play), and the two hard drives work in a raid 1 array for data redundancy?

I have no experience in doing this but have no reason to see why it cannot be done.
I dont know of any enclosures that can hold 2 hard drives at once as I havnt looked into them, but I can strongly recommend getting 2x Antec MX-1 enclosures, each with one sata HD in each. They cool the HDs very well and have very good performance (I am planning to get an MX-1 for my external HD)

Jus plug the two hard drives into your esata ports and as long as you always have them connected when you are booting and they show up in the bios, you should be able to make the raid.

You can buy a back panel slot with 2 on it which plug into a sata port on your mobo i believe?

Talking about external esata hds why not just get something like this or 2 of them?:

Very good price in my opinion, thinking about getting one myself.

I have hard drives in my computer and they make it quite heavy for LAN parties so trying to find a way to get all the data hard drives external, as speed isn't the number 1 factor.

Why dont you get somthing like what I suggested and anouther usb hard drive of the same size, use the esata as the main data one because it will be faster and use a program like synctoy to every now and then sync the data and that way you have a good back up, fast connection and lighten the load from your case!

Don't need an esata connection, just thought it would be more convenient . I also have firewire and USB. Just want a way to take two hard drives inside my computer and put them outside my computer. Possibly in the one box if possible
