Question Any Asus notebook VS Dell XPS M1710 which one?

My Asus A7c has officially died. So Asus are coming to collect it tomorrow and are going to write it off for any Asus notebook or a full refund. But to be truthful i don't really like Asus any more especially the way they treated us (Most of you regulars will know what i am on about!)

So my question is Which notebook shall i get. I could either get any top of the range notebook from Asus or i could get the Dell XPS M1710 with the refund + some more money which is what i have my heart set on?

(I'm looking at the M1710 with 2.16 GHz, 2048 Ram, 512 Mb 7950 nVidia DDR III with some of the extra trimmings)

I looked at the Asus VX2 Labo notebook and i still like the flashiness of the Dell! But then again i like the built in finger print reader of the Asus and the professional look of it! At least with the Asus people would take you serious but the flashiness of the Dell will get you noticed and just looks cool! But on the other hand i dont want the damn thing to break within 3 months again and be back to square 1!

    Ahhhh help me decide folks!

Also i dont want to get another notebook which has the media controls sticking out. I want them to sit level with the screen!

Ps. i have until tomorrow to decide so any help is much appreciated!

What I mean is, why not post this in the relevent section on the main HEXUS forums.

This is a technical help section for Mesh PC's rather than for advice on whether to buy a Dell .

I hope that makes more sense, as I did rather screw up the first post, sorry.

You're in a bit of a bind aren't you. The VX2's are ok but it seems difficult to get hold of blacks ones..and I don't think a yellow laptop will help you to be taken seriously.

If you want a gaming laptop either the xps or the Rock CTX pro are you're best choices. The later looks more professional that the xps i.e no flashing, glowing etc..

The Asus G1/G2/VX2 can handle games alright but only the VX2 looks semi professional imo..it doesn't do it for me though in terms of being taken seriously..Like the acer ferrari..and it way too much money for what you get.

If it were me i'd take either the dell or the rock. Very similar specs..the rock's are really good value and generally have good reliablitly. Customer service is pretty good..and they have a forum where you can hassel them if CS lets you down.
