P5B Deluxe not finding Xifi Soundcard

Today I finished building my pc, only thing I cant get to work on the P5B Deluxe is my Creative Soundblaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer - Fatal1ty Professional Series, when I put the driver cd in it says it cant find the device, and if I go into device manager its not there. I have a feeling it might be a Bios setting Ive got wrong or something similar. Any ideas cos Im running out

Sometimes you need to really press the card into the pci slot. I know someone else with an xfi with the same problem.

You could try disabling the onboard sound as well.

Guess what Clunk, u were kind right. Instead of pushing the card in more I just unscrewed the screw that holds the card in the pci bay and when I did I cud see the card move a surprising amount, so I guess either the board or the case(Eclipse) arent 100% straight. Im so relieved cos I thought Id never find the solution as I tried everything. Might just unscrew the Graphics card a tad next cos I have a feeling it might be too tight and pulling at the slot on the Mb. I remeber now when I did put em in that it did not seem to line up and it took a bit of force to get em in, oh well its sorted now Thanx

Is the inside of your case painted? Sometimes when they are painted/powder coated, you have to chip a bit of paint off, round the screwhole so it fits flat. I'm not saying that this is what you need dto do, but you should be able to tell by looking at it

Wont it go in another slot?

Well no need really its working perfect now, like I said I just untightened the screw that holds the card in a tad and it moved by itself , then I pushed the on the card in a bit too make sure, rebooted and voila. Ur probably right about the paint, might have made it too thick and thus the measurements go out and I like to make things tight which is not best in this case

ya i know the connections on em are bit fiddly, i had to slightly bend the bit that goes into the part next to the mob (the clip on the front (metal bit) to make mine fit nicely
