Mixing up RAM

Hello all,

Looking at the costs of ddr2 going down so much recently I am seriously considering getting more. My question is this: would I be able to mix 2x2GB DIMMS with my existing 2x1GB. I only have four slots and don't want to limit my upgrade path by maxing them out with 4x1GB, especially with prices the way they are now.

I'm currently running a couple of sticks of OCZ PC6400, would I need to ensure that the CL values on the new RAM are the same as my existing sticks? I'm also running an E4300 clocked at 3GHz and would like to know if there would be any potential issues with the overclocking setup by mixing the RAM in this way?

Don't think you'd see much of a benefit from 6gb over 4gb at this point in time.

It would use the lowest timings you have on all the RAM sticks.
