    Micro-Itx

Are there any micro-itx motherboards which truly support core 2 duo i.e. E4300 or the E6600???

Can you clarify which format you're talking about, please? Your title says -ITX, your post -ATX. If you're looking for uATX, then yes, quite a few - have a look at some of the 965-based boards HERE.

Mini-itx, you're looking at a mobile CPU based board like the AOpen listed HERE,

Most of the ITX mobos support the mobile versions of C2D - ie 7x00 range.

I know but i want desktop core 2 duo's hence why I quoted some cpu serials. Thanks anyway but the only mobile core i would consider is an T7400 or T7600 which I would say are equivalent to a E4300 and an E6300

I don't think anyone has had ay experience with the Commells. Not surprising really, they aren't exactly mainstream

There's no point in going for mini-itx with the desktop intel core 2 duo's, what you need is the mobile ones, have a look at the commell lv-677 motherboard. Its pretty much the best out there. I run one with a 2.0ghz core duo mobile chip and it flies.

It has core 2 duo support and capacity for a top of the range graphics card and ddr2 ram.

Yeah, been running a cubit 3 mini-itx system with the commell lv-677 board in for almost a year. Its my main rig. Its got a core duo t2500 in with 2gb of ram and sapphire x800 gto2 and a 320gb seagate drive. All running from a 120w psu believe or not

i believe, why the hell someone hasnt made a mitx board with a

pcie-16 slot (45 degrees slant across the mainboard with a case to fit it in) is beyond me.
    proccy socket for s 775
    2x mem slots
    had descent onboard sound
and 6 or so usb ports
    2x sata

would suite a lot of people very well.
