    how can i tell the type of athlon xp 2600+ i got

    dont know if its a good one or crapy one.

    You cant really get a "crappy" 2600, all of them are unlocked (yes, even the new retail bartons) I myself have a TbredB version and ive had it up to 200x11 before on stock voltages, im just waiting for my new ram then im back up to those speeds grab a hold of CPU-Z Run it and where it says "L2 Cache" if you have "256k" then you have a TbredB version, and if you have "512k" you have a Barton core. Actually, CPU-Z might tell u stright off if u have a Barton or not, not used it in a while

    Its in my signature, Abit NF7-S 2.0, cooled with a Coolermaster Aero 7+ on medium speed, ambient case temp is low 20's, idle temps around 30-38, load temps anything up to 49
