    motherboard and cpu combo

Can anyone advise , I am upgrading my current kit (old kit athlon 3000) to a new motherboard and cpu. i am going down the intel route. I am keeping most of the kit i have already in the old box (mem ddr 400 , x1950 AGP, hard drives , dvdrw ..). so essentially i need a kit which supports ddr400 and agp.
I have found these on scan which seem to fit the trick.

    Abit AS8-V i865PE
    Asrock 4CoreDual-VSTA
    Asrock 775I65G
    Asus P5PE-VM
    ECS P4M800-M2
    Gigabyte 8I865GME-775-RH

Obviously I am looking at a Dual-Core LGA 775 cpu.
ok any one any suggestions looking at spending £100 max ...

    any suggestion comments ..

Personally I think you should get a whole new system, it doesn't seem worth upgrading to c2d with AGP and DDR.

My best advice is wait until you can afford a whole setup.

    I don't think the i865 chipset supports Core2 processors?

I run the Asrock 4Core Dual etc on my second PC. Runs with a GeCube AGP 1950XT and its rock solid. Most ram u need atm is 2Gb, the performance is satisfactory at stock.
Taint gonna oC much but as it is used for casual gaming BF2 et al it produces good frame rates. Married with a E6300 (not me the Asrock, thou my wife would say otherwise).

It wont run 8800 as advised by Asrock, just to forewarn you for the future, also to run some of the newer cpu's it will need flashing to the latest bios. Check Asrock's site for CPU compatible chips. Scan will flash it for you for a tenner if you ask nicely

All in all for £140 quid it was a value for money (read cheap) upgrade.
I did replace the DDR 400 ram with some Patriot 667 for £50 from Aria as it was on offer.
