Voltage Regulator temp 62 deg

I did post in the graphics / monitor part, but noone much seems to use that area, at least noone answered lol.

I had a BSOD on my PC a few days ago. I thought I would check out temperatures etc using systool http://www.techpowerup.com/systool/ just in case something might be too hot due to a fan not running. The hottest thing in my PC (this is when running in 3d) is the Voltage Regulator temp on my X1900XTX. The highest I've seen it is 62 C. Should I worry about it? Everything else is cooler and seems OK to me. I have an accelero x2 cooler fitted to the card.

Have you tried a fan on it?

I know the stock vreg heatsink has a rubbery thermal pad underneath it, does the accelero cover the vreg as well?..did you swap the thermal pad over?

Is the card bowed? If you tighten any cooler on a graphics card too much, the card will bend, as there are only 2 mounting points on the vreg, if the card is bowed, the centre of the row of regulators wont touch the heatsink.

There were 8 thermal pads on the stock cooler and I fitted the 8 pads that came with the accelero. As far as know those were just for the memory chips. I don't think the accelero covers the voltage regulator, other than maybe directing some air onto it. tbh I don't know where the voltage regulator is on my card is lol. Looking at the card it isn't bent at all and I was careful that the HSF is seated squarely.

I had a reply on another forum from another user, saying that the voltage regulator temp on their similar card is about the same. It must be designed to run that hot.

The voltage regulator is underneath a long narrow red heatsink that runs the width of the card.

I thought it might be that, I didnt change that in installing the accelero. It looks to be seated ok and looking at the card edge on, it's totally flat.
