    The only problem there is where to put it. I had mine on the back, looked a bit odd but it worked a treat. I used a radbox and a hollwed out fan, that way it doesnt get in the way of your monitor cable.
    You can also remove one of the divider for the pci slits and that will allow your to run even 1/2" hose through without drilling.Or, you could also make a casing for the rad and sit it on top.I made 2 side cowellings for mine out of a v1000 side panel.
    Have to say my DIY is pretty poor (actually it's disgraceful - I failed Design & Tech GCSE ) so would prefer some off the shelf solution really

    What does the hollowed out fan do ? Looking at the back of the case would the rad not just obscure a few PCI slots when mounted on the rear fan, or am I missing the point ?
    Top of the case is out really as it sits under the desk in an IKEA holdy thing so not much clearance on top.



    Did you keep any pics of your v1000 setup ?

    From what I've gathered from C2D overclocking databases, there isn't a huge difference in max o/c acheived through water rather than high-end air coolers such as the Tuniq Tower 120.
    That being the case, the biggest improvement you'll have using water, will be with regards to temps and possibly noise level (but that would be dependant on the fans used).

    I am interested in ocing the gfx card a bit. This is not possible on air due to temps. (already at 85 when loaded)
    I also want noise down a lot from now whilst maintaining a decent CPU overclock. I am already running a Noctua NH12 on it which is great (3Ghz @ 32 idle / 44 load) but is noisy with the case fans and GPU fans also running.

    Some pics of the bits I have. Seems the Pump is the lower spec Eheim 1048, the rad has some bent fins and small amount of rust(!). The fans are some noisy beasts by the looks of them.

    A hollowed out fan would bolt to the outside of the rear 120mm fan hole and would give you extra space between the rad and the case to stop any interference with your cables, it will also cut down on fan noise.

    Thanks for those. Your mod would be too high also for the space I've got. Oh well more thinking needed.

    Could I mount the rad on top of the case using the rad box ? I already have 2 120mm fan holes and screw holes in the top from when the rad was mounted inside. That way Id only need to drill 2 more holes for the tubing. Or use the 2nd fan hole for routing the tubing.

    then you have plenty of options 2x empty 120mm fancores & mount the rad on them maybe as i'd be more inclined to put the tubing through the back perhaps using the pci slots, would mean the tubing needs less tight bends.

    How about if you had the rad sat flat on top of the case with the tubing looped round and in through the back? You could make some small feet for the rad to sit on and put the fans on top.

    The rad box is similar to using a hollowed out fan, in so much as it needs a fan hole to bolt to.

    Tinners, That's a triple on Clunk's rig.

    On yours, if you use a dual rad with a radbox (or home made radbox) and mount the rad with the hoses at the bottom (a la domestic central heating rad), it'll just look as it does now from the front. The only potential problem to watch out for is depth!

    The main difference between a kit and seperates, is that the kit has all the same barbs and the correct size tubing. If you buy something that has different sized barbs, then just remove them with an adjustable spanner and replace with the correct size.
    There's no need to drill holes, just remove one of the PCI backplates and run the tubes through there.

    Yeah sounds like it would work, just have some very thick rubber / plastic 1-2cm washers in between the case and rad for it to sit on.
    What about the barbs though, would they not stick out underneath too much to make this any better than using hollowed out fans / radbox ?

    Have the barbs facing upwards and loop the tubing up and round and into the back.

    you can get sheet neophane(rubber) & cut strips to sit between your case & rad. I used that stuff for my shrouds it's great.

    barbs upwards might be a problem clearance wise, but just thought I could hang it over the back enough for the barbs to hang down behind the case.

    barbs down should work nicely especially if they enter case thru the back pci slots say. see mt pics 2 get an idea
