Which RAM?

Okay before you say "OMFG!!! DON'T BUY OFF OVERCLOCKERS", I know their prices are high, but Scans selection of RAM, basically sucks.

I'm stuck in between buying:
Corsair 4GB DDR2 XMS2 Dominator DHX PC2-6400C5 TwinX (2x2GB)

GeIL 4GB (4x1GB) PC8500C5 1066MHz Black Dragon DDR2 Dual Channel Kit

The GeIL is PC8500 and the Corsair is PC6400.

The GeIL has no heatsinks, the corsairs has the works.

Would the GeIL work in the P5K Deluxe?

Really sorry about the bother with all the questions etc, just never bought DDR2 or a C2D before...

I would say that that crucial is the fastest clocking, tightest timing, best bang for buck ram at the minute.

3-3-3-3 900mhz+
4-4-4-4 1200mhz
5-5-5-12 1380mhz

Buy it from crucial though, the ones from overclockers are aparently made from imported chocolate fingers.

so what's better ?? 95% if not more of the performance ram are micron d9 chips or variants therof.

1 advantage of buying direct from crucial is arguably a better rma service, that includes cross shipping if you want it.

I bought my ballistix 6400 from overclockers and its the pukka crucial stuff and clocks like the dogs nads. Whats so bad about overclockers? Ive been using them for years and I have no problem with them.

well yes it's illegal to sell stuff as ballistix without it being crucial stuff. A lot of people have had problems with returning faulty product to OCUk.

One is cheaper with tighter timings but lower clock speeds.

Hang on a sec, nobody said anything about fake ram, just that it was aparently made out of imported chocolate fingers, theres a difference.

Got mine from OCUK as it comes in sealed boxes, and sealed anti-static bags within so you immediately know if it's dodgy or not.... and you can just RMA it to Crucial if any probs. They'll replace it in 48hrs too. Did feel a bit wrong giving OCUK my business after the problems I and so many others have had, but saved £16 per set......... 'Judas!' I hear you cry!
