      • Motherboard:
      • MSI P45 Platinum
      • CPU:
      • Intel E7200 @ 3.5GHz
      • Memory:
      • 4x1GB Corsair PC5400 @ 720MHz 4-4-4-11
      • Storage:
      • 2 x Samsung Spinpoint 500GB
      • Graphics card(s):
      • 2 x ATI HD4850
      • PSU:
      • 750W Silverstone Zeus
      • Case:
      • AOpen H700B custom watercooled
      • Operating System:
      • Vista HP x64
      • Internet:

    Probably be better off with a ~£400 8800GTX, the P5B deluxe or Asus P5K deluxe. Otherwise ok, unless you want to go for the 6600 and overclock.

    Youll need x64 o/s for that ram.

    I agree with flewis, those boards are a better bet. The e6600 is better bang for buck.

    Okay I'll go with the E6600. Out of the P5B and P5K which is better? and are they better than the Abit one I chose? I'll probably go with a GTX but I run games at 1920x1200 so would it be better to use an Ultra which has shown to be better? If the GTX will be sufficient can anyone recommend a good one, I see cards which have lower clocks but are insanely expensive.

    @ Clunk: I will be installing Vista x64 (even though I hate Vista) in order to be ready for DX10.

    Thanks a lot for the help people.

    P5K Deluxe looks to be better than P5B Dl.
    abit's IP35 Pro should be in retail in ~1 week & is 2/3 the price - initial oc result that I've seen had it @ 580fsb with an E6700 (lower multi obviously).

    MSI P55-GD80, i5 750
    abit A-S78H, Phenom 9750,

    Are the nForce 590 chipsets any good?
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=459994

    If not is this P5W DH Deluxe any good?

    If if not either of them:

    * http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=526999
    * http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=443853

    Okay so I have narrowed it down to them, the one which is most highly recommended will be on my list

    If not is this P5W DH Deluxe any good? Average, pretty solid, but nothing special, comes with a huge and expensive bundle of useless junk.

    If if not either of them:
    * http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=564717if you are going to pay this much, you may as well go for the P5K deluxe wifi, which is the new p35 chipset.

    * http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=526999*NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO - do a search on here for commando.

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=443853 great board, rock solid, but the P5K just beats it.

    Heh, okay well, I was going to get the P5K3 (DDR3) but the ram is on preorder and I'm not a man for waiting .

    So I decided to go for: http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=591501

    Thanks

    um, yes. Most med-high end i965/i975 chipsets have on board RAID, not to mention a host of other features. Scan's spec. pages are usually pretty informative so check those.
