    New PC, Double check?

Hi guys, im going to be ordering aload of new parts for my PC and was just wondering if you could double check.

    Antec 900 case
    BFG GeForce 8800
    E6600
    P5B deluxe
    Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2 Dominator DHX PC2-6400

I already have a couple of HDD's monitor etc although i will need a PSU which im completly stuck with.

The PC will be mainly gaming and i probably wont be overclocking although i may give it ago (not a big deal if i dont OC).

    Thanks

Get the Corsair HX Series 520W PSU. It's nice and quiet and very efficient so would be able to handle the 8800s easily.

I would pay a little more for the Antec P180 as it is just better built. The 900 is just for looks really. If you have the PC in your bedroom then you'll be glad you got the P180 as it is dead quiet.

If you have a 24inch LCD and you intend to get a 8800GTS make sure you get a 640mb one. If you have a lower resolution LCD then the 320mb should be fine.

Don't be afraid of overclocking the c2d's. It is child's play to overclock cheaper versions and get nigh on the same clocks as the e6600. The savings that you make could be used on a decent HSF which you could undervolt and the sound would be mostly hidden in the P180. You could check out the Hexus HSF round-up .

I'd almost agree with that but i'd get the antec p182 as it's new and improved..

Best Value cooler is the Arctic Freezer 7 Pro. It's a bargain at £12..I use it in my pc and it keeps my e6600 under 50 degrees(full load) clocked at 3.4GHz.

I also just built an e6600 with a scythe ninja too which is also a very good cooler. Keeps it below 20 degrees (idle) not overclocked.

As luvclub suggested have a quick read of the Hexus HSF round up to pick your favourite.

Deffinatly consider the corsair 520w PSU.. it really is as good as people say.

The RAM's ok but have a quick look at OCZ and Crucial Ballistix as they are proving very good.

Also for future proofing you may want the Asus P5K instead of the P5B.

    As staffsMike.
Dump the Dominator, your paying OTT price as it is XMS chips with fancy heat spreaders to help with OC cooling. It is good but if your not OC then as staffsMike has said look at alternatives.

    Good luck with your build.
