But the gigabite website says "ultimate graghics performance with dual pcie x16 interface"
http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/...me=GA-P35T-DQ6
Surly that means sli?
Even if they didn't do sli, are they a viable alternative to the asus p5k

Nope doesn't mean SLi, just means they have two PCI-E slots.
Not sure if they mean physical or electronic though. The only way to get electronic 2 x 16 speed is to divide them up with another chip.
Just like Asus are doing with P35 Crosslinx chip on their RoG oards (Blitz extreme and formula). It's like the chip used on 7950GX2 to split PCI-E lanes to each GPU.
Also intel chipsets are crossfire only at the moment.
That may change as Intel and nVidia are sharing informtation and nVidia can make Xeon chipsets now apparently.
680i is just a manopoly by nVidia, you wan't SLi - you have no other choice bar 650i or 680LT.

Did find this you tube vid on an american sales site

Don't think he had a script, quite a bit of repeating himself
Yes, but they are x16 speed slots when used with a single card, you put two in and it pulls a 965 I think.
As according to Asus without their crosslinx chip, P35 does what 965 does and switches to 16x and 4x on the second PCI-E slot.
p35 will not support SLi.
better chipset for o/c though and if you aren't going SLi out of the box then I don't think its worth going for the 680i. Not that its a bad chipset, its just not AS good. And you can save that money left over to u/g after nVidia launch G90 after xmas
Well personnaly i don't think i'll be going sli, but it would have been nice to have had the option.
I'm kinda moving towards the p35 by gigabyte with the fluresent ram slots

Any opinions on this board would be welcomed.
i have a p5k-dlx and it has been great so far.
id lean more towards the asus p5k deluxe if i were you... woudlnt be fussed with the DDR3 option ofc...read the Hexus review on the board...if you havent already.

I'm not worried about the ddr3 as i won't be buying that it's just the gigabite board has more features for less, and has the ultra durability thingy, the trouble is it seems to be so new when you google it the only link for it is at scan comuters?
I bought a ASUS P5N32-E SLi PLUS motherboard (650i & 570i chipset) and it's as stable as a brick wall. Awesome overclocking features too.

ive got the 2007wfp but i could always upgrade it, but i might just go for the p35 if it overclocks better (does it?) than the 680i, and with the money saved just put it into something else
Most of the reviews about 680i boards have been possitive, would be interested to know if anyone out there has bought a 680i board what they think of it!
Well i've got two of them, an EVGA 680i and the abit IN9-32x Max. I love them they do run a little hot but if you've got a well ventilated case its all good. Ive have no problems with them very stable and overclock brilliantly.
im not really worried about any problems i just want to know which is the better, performance wise.
P35.
I have had both, and the P35 is far better for FSB and for memory clocking.
The 680i that I had, overvolted the ram quite a lot and the unlinked memory settings were at best flaky. The NB and SB ran ridiculously hot, and there were SATA problems, chipset driver problems, power problems, random memory problems, BSODs relating to the already mentioned memory problems, loads more.
And before anyone says I was unlucky, I wasnt, there were loads of others with the same problems at the time.
