    Cordless mouse recommendation

I'm looking for a new cordless mouse to replace my Logitech Cordless Mouse (basic OEM model).

Price is not a great concern but I'm a lefty so I want a "symmetrically" designed mouse so that it can be used in both hands comfortably.

I'm quite tempted by the Logitech LX7 but it's only 800dpi optical and I'm tempted by a laser mouse.

I do play computer games on occasion and although I've not had any problems with my current rodent I want something that will do the job well. However, I'm not going to give in to the purists as I do want a cordless mouse!

    Any recommendations?

You can buy left handed mice, would be the most comfortable for regular use:

I like the look of the mouse you recommended. Is laser a noticeably better technology than optical? Will I notice a difference?

The only concern with the "lefty" mouse is that my wife is likely to hate me for buying it as she is right handed and uses my computer occasionally. Hence I wondered about a symmetrical or ambidextrous mouse.

AFAIK laser should in theory be more accurate than "optical", due to the inherent stability of the light a laser emits versus an LED ...laser is optical too of course. It just sounds cooler to say laser. Both shine rays on the surface and photograph it, trying to pick up if you've moved the mouse (when the surface will have changed)

I'd have though wireless for gaming would be okay (my wireless keyboard does absolutely fine for CSSource) - check reviews as some models may appear to be "laggy" to some reviewers - you'd only notice it during "twitch" gaming however.

You certainly can run two mice at the same time, though it helps if they're the same company

I've got an old Logitech mx510 that I use for gaming and I've also got the Logitech s510 cordless desktop (ambidextrous mouse - nothing special though and not as good as the 510 by a long stretch). The Logitech Desktop application detects both and can deal with me switching between the two happily (my gf resents the wired mouse having survived I think ). I do turn the cordless one off a lot though to conserve batteries and so it doesn't send spurious signals to the pc if I'm playing a fps.

Of course the 510 is of no help to you as it's made for right-handed use. You could probably have one mouse on either side of the keyboard if she's right handed?
