Advice on X2 3600+ & Board

Right, simple story. I have a Chenbro Hornet, M-ATX Case (270W PSU), 120gig HDD, DVDRW, X700 256mb & SB-Live 24bit sat idle and I could use a Motherboard/CPU/RAM to get the little devil working.

@ Work we have an ECS GeForce6100SM-M motherboard and X2 3600+ (1.9Ghz 1mb Cache) for about £77inc for the two.

DDR2 Ram is obviously dirt cheap too :)

Just a couple of questions:

1: Any idea how well the X2 3600+'s overclock?
2: I'm guessing the ECS board is NForce4 based. Similarly, any overclocking info?

I've not used AMD for a while so I'm sorta out of the loop:stupid:

the 3600+s if ya get a good one will easy go past 3ghz..

get an abit nfm2 nview as they overclock like mosters, that ECS board.. i dunno and if you buy through scan or somewhere similar shouldnt be more than a few £s more

A few more posts and I can get free postage... I may have a brief peruse of the Scan pricelist later.

I am thinking of purchasing a X2 3600 with an ABIT KN9 Ultra. That seems to be the best, cheapish AM2 board Scan do.

M-ATX is my limitation ATM. I could go Full ATX but I'd like to use my Chenbro.

the abit is a good uatx ocing board..

if you can't find an nView it's replacement (AN-M2HD) should be out in a week or so.
