Any suggestions for a quiet PSU? To run an E6700 processor and a mid-level graphics card, like the 7600GT, plus a couple of HDDs. I was thinking of using the Antec P180 case.
Also, can anyone suggest a good heatsink that can be run almost fanless.

Just built one myself.
Corsair HX 520w and antec p182..I'd deffinatly go for the p182 though on low the fans are litterally just about audiable and the psu in non existent.
You could always change the fans if you felt the need though. Late loons and a fan controller are what were strongly recommended to me.
Heatsink I used is a scythe ninja..It's huge and will run passive at about 40 degrees.

PSU either a Seasonic S12/M12 or a Corsair HX. As the Corsairs are actually Seasonic made but with a longer warranty I would get the 520watt one. http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=446788
Whats the difference between the P182 and P180?
That sounds perfect, thank you. Will go for P182 and the Corsair.
Can you guys recommend a motherboard, as well please?
I was going to go for an Asus P5B deluxe, but I want to be able to run RAID, and I heard that this motherboard only has one SATA header inside the case. (It has another one, but that's external, ie on the I/O panel at the back.)
It's just a slightly revised version of the p180 afaik.
Adds in cable management things and possibly the rubber gromets for keeps HDD vibrations to a minimum.
I went with a P5B too lol.
It has one RAID port towards the back and an external sata as you say but has 6 other sata ports... How many hard drives do you want RAIDed together?

I just want to put two HDDs in RAID (to duplicate the data). Plus I want to put in a DVD writer, which I guess should be SATA, as well.
When I last checked, there were something like 22 different P5B motherboards! Are you saying that your one would work for me? If so, which version did you go for?
Thanks, once again!
I wasn't planning on overclocking but wanted to the possiblilty to remain open so I wen't for the P5B-E Plus.
You can get decent overclocks with it from what i've read and its a good solid board on a nice black PCB. Looks like it will last a long time.
I'm don't know that much about raid but you are talking about RAID 1 (mirror) So i would guess with 1 hard drive plugged into the normal sata ports and then 1 plugged into the raid port this would accomplish what you want to do.
You'll be wanting to replace the cooler on your GFX card if you want a silent PC. Also you might need to block the top blow hole of the P180 as a lot of noice escapes (depends if it's gonna be under a desk or anything). Zalman make excellent aftermarket card coolers - eg. the VF900. Have a look at reviews etc. Just in case, Xclio make very quiet PSUs as they fit a 14cm fan - low RPM = low noise.
HTH
You can get passive gfx cards at that level.
there the xfx 7600gt fatality which is supposed to be quite good.
I just got the gainward 8500GT SilentFX for mine and they do an 8600gt version which are passive also.
