    My ears = pain

Ok so bought a new seagate 7200.10 320gb hard drive last week from ebuyer been running fine for last 3 days and i decided to back up, so moved files from 320 gb to seagate 7200.10 250gb drive and ouch my ears are in pain its so goddamn loud, i dont get it, how come the 250gb is silent and 320gb is super loud humming and crackling noise, does anyone else get this?
Also only reason i got the 320gb as old firmware on 250gb means my hard drive wouldnt show up in windows without the drivers for motherboard being installed.

So is this normal? if not ill rma it.
    Thanks

Btw if i can send it back for a diffrent one is this better?

The Chinese models are renowned for being loud and unreliable. The Taiwanese are generally OK.

I have teh same HDDs as you, I don't know if it is Chinese/Taiwanese. But the only noise I have is sometimes it sounds like the reader is hitting something like the side of the HDD case (only on occasion during high-usage).
