    Micro ATX case selection

    Evening all,
I'm looking to convert from shuttle to a M-ATX sugo based solution.

    I'm basically looking at:

The TJ08 with a zalman 9500 cooler or similar

    or

    The SG03 with a NT06 Lite.

I'm looking to build a C2D rig, and hope to overclock aswell, so taking this into consideration which case/ cooler arrangement would you guys say would give the best performance/ value?

If you wait a little longer you'll be able to get a G33 based board. This will give you penryn (1333mhz fsb) support.

If you have to get one now the Asus p5b-vm is pretty good as is the abit faltality F-I90HD as long as you dont want to use a long double width gfx card and all sata ports at the same time.

    Yeah, I'm looking at:

seems to be preforming pretty well. Just wondering which case is best to go for mainly for cooling as I'm looking to overclock (hense the lengthy discussion bout ram in the scan forum, hehe)

    thought i recognised the name

The pc5300 ballistix does run very cool and clocks superbly..just got some for a new pc.

The sg03 seemed to struggle to cool perfectly in hexus's test of it. Doesn't have an extractor if I remember correctly.

I was considering the sg01 when I build my uATX. It uses smaller fans but seems to have them in all the right places.

The TJ08 might be a better choice if it's a tower shape you're after.

There's an asus g33 on the way. That would be my choice.

If the asus has got a 1:1 divider (unlike the gigabyte at the mo), i'll definately be looking at it.

As anyone had any experience with the NT06 cooler/ PSU fan cooler combo?

yeah, i use it on my Sugo01 Evo case, and it works fine with a X2 v3800+ and 7900GT with two harddrives.

I personally am gonna go down the Sugo 03 route in a couple of months.

scan stock a "D" series G33 mATX mothgerboard with solid caps.

just a forum-based review but at first glance the ASUS G33 board will do 1:1 ram

edit:link seems to have stopped working - hopefully just a midnight backup or something. pvhuk is the poster I think.

You won't be compelled to use those killing rams needed on the ga-g33-ds2r!
and post #16 shows results with an e4300

perhaps it doesn't have a 1:1 ratio per se but it does look like you can set the ram timings independently (to some extent at least!) from the cpu fsb?

I think I found me a board for my C2D build if I do go the SUGO route (SG01 evo for me though if I do...), now all that's left really is to wait out the price drops and see what becomes the best buy cpu!!
