    Existing kit I'm Keeping/already have:

    ocz modstream 600w
    2gb Corsair XMS2 5400 4-4-4-12
    P5B deluxe wi-fi
    Silverstone TJ05 Case
    Diamondmax 10 320gb sata drive
    20" del/sony trinitron CRT.
    X-fi Music

I'm trying to go for a rig which will provide good performance at stock, and which I can overclock at a later stage. I also want it to be as quiet as possible.
I do know everything, just not all at once. It's a virtual memory problem.

I'd go for 6400 memory...it will probably only cost a few quid more.

If you have not owned a C2D before....when you realise just how easy the overclocking is, you wont be at stock for long!

edit....just noticed you alrady own the memory!

I would change the mine... to the Ninja...
and the ram as suggest above as well...

Might want to buy another 500GB and go for raid... if you have spare cash..

Depends entirely on what you do with it to be honest, for a gamer you should see some improvements in level loading time, say 5-10% faster.

The main boost though is if you have either a lot of very small files (smaller than a sector or two), or lots of databases, since RAID 0 makes it twice as likely the computer will find a file on any particular platter.

Still, with 500GB of potential data, do you really want to double your chances of suffering complete data loss?
