Memory - which is better?

I'm looking to buy some memory and i have come down to these two manufacturers, what i want to no is which is better?

also what is the warranty like with crucial is it lifetime like corsair?

crucial has lifetime warranty, don't know which is better, but i have been recommended crucial for my latest build

Corsair also have a lifetime warrenty! Click on the warrenty part of the scan add.
I'm gussing both are identical.

Neither for those prices.

2gb of OCZ Platinum or 2gb of Geil for the same spec (and just as fast n tight) can be had now for under £70

OCZ carry a lifetime warranty aswell.

Take a look on Ebuyer. Even the dreaded OCUK have it very cheap aswell (even though not recommended) but the warranty is direct to manufacturer if theres a problem so you cant go wrong tbh.

well this is for my new build, so far i have on order P5K deluxe/WIFI AP, 2x250GB WD 16mb cache and an OC BFG 8600GT! Not that bothered bout games btw just wanted to be up to date.

Not heard of Geil but don't really want OCZ had two bad experiences with them!

OCZ Platinum is very good.
GEIL & G.Skill are also an excellent manufacturers.

I have used Crucial before and because they are UK based, RMAs are a few days. They are over-priced compared with most of the competition though.

Problem with Corsair is that their RMA processes for Europe aren't that good.

If you must choose between the two then Crucial without a doubt!

Yeh i've never had to RMA any corsair memory back to corsair themselves nut yes can imagine that that is quite bad, just had to send a faulty pen drive back to scan.

well i just got p5kdlx and e4400 and decided to go for the ballistix. i know i can perhaps get 4gb of the geil ultra pc6400 44412 stuff for not a lot more, but i wanted micron d9 chips as they overclock very very well. bit like back in the day when people wanted BH5 and/or TCCD, so you pay a little premium.

Its not much, but with quidco you get 7% back, if that helps.

It all depends what you intend to do with it. If you are going to be overclocking it and messing around with timings etc, then the crucial is the one to go for, if you arent going to bother with that, then as already mentioned, you can pick up similar specced stuff for much cheaper.

I do intent to over clock a bit im planning on getting the Q6600 in July with the price cuts. IN the mean time im going to get a a cheap C2D.

If you are only going to overclock a E4300 or E4400 to about 3ghz all you need is a well known brand of 6400 going cheap (for reliability)..........you can have the best/fastest memory in the world but it aint no good if you have a duff CPU or poor cooling holding you back.

No i plan on overclocking, Q6600 in july when they come down in price the cheap C2D is just a stop gap that will then go in a HTPC well thats the plan anyway!
