My new (first build) PC

I have just ordered the components for my new PC from scan and they should be coming soon. Then I am getting someone to put it all together and overclock it for me. Any way I went for:


Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro
Asus P5K Deluxe/WiFi-AP iP35
320MB BFG Technology 8800GTS
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
650W Enermax Infiniti EIN650AWT
Samsung SH-S182M/BEBN 18x DVD±R
250 Gb Seagate ST3250823AS Barracu
2GB (2x1GB) CorsairTwinX XMS2, DDR2
and I already bought an antec 900 case.

Should I have gone for anything else. This was in a budget of 800 pounds overall.

Not going wrong with any of that !! Case choice not my own but its all personal choice on that one, the rest is A1 !!

The thing abouout the case is that it is just large enough to fit a card like the 8800 gtx in so for the future I wouldnt have to buy a totally new case.

My GTS fits in it with about 3 inches to spare.

A GTS shouldn't even get to the end of the motherboard..

Maybe a larger PSU? The PSU you have decided on will be alright. But maybe a larger one for expansion?

650w is too much for that..so will leave ample room for expansion..

Build it yourself though..thats the fun part

Oh definately build it yourself! It's really fun when the bits go "BANG!" and you realise that loud noise was actually £200 crumbling into oblivion!

That looks fine to me. and yes a GTX will fit quite happily in an antec 900.

I have a 670w and with the installation of my 2900XT i'm a bit worried.... Obviously i shouldn't be...
But whatever!

Err thats the 2GB (2x1GB) Corsair Twinx XMS2, DDR2 PC-6400 (800) 240 Pinn, Non-ECC Unbuffered CAS 5-5-5-18 EPP DHX. And I changed the DVD R to an SATA one when I realised it wasnt.
