    Thanks saltynay

I don't plan to overclock, but I'd like it as an option if I do decide to overclock.

I personally put together the following on Scan:

    £901 inc. postage. (minus £12 from £901 as I won't be paying postage )

That above spec is perfect I think, but you guys might be able to point me to better manufacturers/components?

    Hi Craig,

I'm in almost exactly the same boat as yourself... doing almost exactly the same thing as you, right this minute!

I decided to go with the 640MB Leadtek 8800GTS and the Asus P5B Deluxe mobo instead. All I need now is a new monitor

Yes I am! My main PC is still running the classic XP1700/NF7-S combo. The missus and I are moving out of my mother's house later this year, so this one will have to last me forever while we live in poverty!

If it were me, I would go for different ram, that corsair is horribly overpriced for is pretty much bog standard ram. You can pick up some from a different manufacturer with similar specs for around half the price.

antec nine hundered/antec p180 are better value cases. Also, much as i love scan could get a better value psu from elsewhere (ie ebuyer w/ google checkout) and better value ram! Also, although the Gbite D are good, the Abit ab9 or ausus pw5-d are better so i'd go that route.

I was going to spec myself one on ebuyer, but they won't let me add the E6600 to my basket because it's out of stock!!

I'll check out some reviews on the P-180, thanks m8

I'll be going for a Scythe Ninja or Thermaltake 120 ASAP (I might even stick on in with my first order) - I really don't get along with the stock intel coolers

    What manufacturer do you suggest?

I'll change that to Geil thanks, most people seem to use Geil with C2Ds these days.
