Formatting a MAC HD for PC use

I have been offered a sata drive out of a Mac. Is there any reason why a sata drive should be Mac only? Can I just reformat it to NTFS?

Put it in -> Computer Management -> Disk management -> format it

For soem reason someone suggested it was MAC only, but I just saw it as a SATA drive, which I could easily reformat. Thanks.

It is possible to lock HD's to machines, but ive not heard of Apple doing this.

A post in the Apple forum may be worth while - im not up to date with Macs
