New laptop help
Hey
My thinkpad t40 is starting to show its age now, so I want a new laptop. I need it to be light and have a decent battery life (3 hours plus). I've seen this on ebuyer and wondered if it was any good performance wise.

I'm coming from a Pentium M 1.5ghz, 512mb ram, 40gb hdd. Will the Acer be faster, and does the Turion have a power scaling feature like the Pentium M does?
Thanks

Personally I wouldn't go with an Acer, especially coming from a Thinkpad.
Also, with 512MB ram, Vista is going to be a right pig to use.
Whjat's your budget, and what will you use the notebook for?
There is a stonking Sony 13", Dual core, 1gb Ram, DVDRW, Vista Premium than can be had for about £530 or so.

If I got the acer, i would be adding another gb of ram anyway.
I'm going to be using it for uni work, internet, couple of games (footy manager). I'm not taking my desktop to uni in september so need something that is going to be relatively powerful. Battery life is a big concern for me as well, since I'm coming from a thinkpad that got 6 hours from one charge.
£530 is more than I wanted to spend really. I've not got alot at the moment, but could wait a couple of months and make do with my desktop for now.
