I mistakenly bought a cheap USB memory stick from PC World, but it isn't compatible with Readyboost...
Which is the best value stick out there that is? Also, is it worth getting a 4GB one?
Does anyone use it? Is it worth looking into?

Ive never used it tbh as i've got plenty of ram. Supposed to be good but i'm unconvinced by the reviews. Anyhoo, here's a pretty comprehensive compatability chart. http://www.grantgibson.co.uk/misc/readyboost/
cant say i have seen it make much diff tbh.

I see Scan sell a Corsair stick designed specifically for ReadyBoost (link). It's a 1Gb stick which sounds just about enough. I guess you will be leaving it plugged into the PC permanently so I wouldn't want to spend a fortune on this (otherwise you'd be better off getting more RAM).
I'd be tempted to get this as I understand that it boosts performance even for a system with 4Gb RAM. Don't think of it as a replacement for RAM but rather a way of boosting performance. If you've got less than 2Gb I'd consider increasing the RAM instead/ as well as buying this stick.
I saw some tests on this and it makes very little benefit on most apps. Basically the cache on your HD is faster.
I already have 4GB RAM - but it's got to be worth a bash for £10
Thanks for the info folks
Well I've actually seen a test on gamespot where the readyboost did virtually nothing for computers with two gig or more of ram but that may have been about two months ago. http://uk.gamespot.com/features/6167115/index.html
