Hello,
I have a query regarding temperature readings and monitoring. With every new build that I do, I always check the temperature readings of the CPU as soon as I can, just to double check that I’ve seated the HSF properly. However, I’ve recently completed my first shuttle build and I’ve seen something a little odd. In the Shuttle BIOS, and this is with the latest BIOS, I get a temp of around 30C, which isn’t that bad, but I’ve used both Core Temp and Coretemeter and they report the X2 3600 that I am using is at about 15-18C for both cores. I know there doesn’t seem to be much to worry about in that at worst case 30C isn’t way OTT, but I am a bit puzzled.
I know that you can get temp readings from different places but to have over 10C variance between them seems odd doesn’t it? Which should I trust? I would like to trust the lower one, as I have Cool n Quiet on, running the CPU at 1ghz, but I don’t know. Any thoughts???
