overclocking an e4300 without a 1:1 RAM option
The board I was thinking about getting - Gigabyte DSR2 G33 doesn't seem to have a 1:1 ram option according to the forum posts I've seen out there, though people are hopeful it'll come in a bios update. What I want to know is whether this is a problem and if there's a clever way around it without buying silly-speed ram? e.g. if I told the mobo to run it as 400MHz ddr2 should it scale with the cpu? All rather confusing...:juggle:
If I got an e4300 (fsb=[quad pumped]200=800) and tried to overclock it I understand that the RAM frequency might go a bit nuts due to strange memory dividers making the ram run faster than you think it is going to? I have pc6400 rated OCZ @(5-5-5-12). Fingers crossed for more uATX motherboards to appear in the next month...:)
