Hi guys. I've finally plucked up the courage to build (for the 1st time) the computer - components for which I have been accumulating for the past 4 months. I got an Antec p180 case and a seasonic s12 430w psu. what cables do i connect the chassis fans to? is it the obvious ones (the only ones that seem to fit) or is there something i'm missing?
If they have 3 pin connectors - to the motherboard.
If they have molex connectors (4 pin) then directly to the PSU :)
They are molex connectors (if its the same as the p182) so yeah straight to the only connectors that fit from the PSU
Standard fans with the P180 have 4 pin molex connectors, so you connect them to a Molex from the PSU. yoy will fine the fans have both male & female so you can plug them into each other and power them all from a single PSU molex.
I have replaced the supplied rear and top Tricool fans (but not the PSU chamber fan) with 3 pin mini connector fans, plus added another to the front of the case, so I can power and control them from the motherboard.
