    Question Help me achive stability

    Myu 3200+ A64 arrived today so I proceeded to build my system, after getting windows installed I started to notice stability issues, everynow and again programs / explorer would crash, just now Distributed folding crashed and for some reson wants to download the latest update again , NFSU plays ok but every now and again after a race when it takes you to the menu that menu is messed up .

    System is as follows :

    Abit KV8 MAX3
    A64 3200+ With Retail Cooler and Retail TIM
    ATI 9800 Pro 256MB Ram
    2x 512MB PC3500 Mushkin Ram, had to up the volts from default 2.55 to get working, to be expected as its speced for a higher voltage.
    SB Audigy ZS
    1x WD Raptor connected to Silicone Image Controller (VIA Chip was being funny with me)
    1x 200GB Maxtor HDD
    Sony DRU500 DVD Writer
    Lite on 52X CDRW

    All housed in a well ventilated Chassis, Temps never seem to get that high.

    Any tips from fellow A64 owners?

    OS is Win XP with Service Pack one, not yet downloaded the latest updates due to being stuck on Dial Up

    Possibility of inadequate PSU. What PSU is it? And more importantly, what are the maximum amp ratings for the 3.3v, 5v and 12v rails?

    Nice system tho

    Its a 520 Watt Aerocool, dunno the amp ratings off hand but im currently getting the following readings from the Abit monitoring software :

    3.3V = 3.38
    5v = 5.04
    12v = 12.16

    Seems ok to me, the PSU should handle it fine

    As have been mentioned it could be your PSU.

    I don't own an A64.

    I assume everything is running stock speeds, have you tried primeing it to see if its stable ?

    Platinum,

    I don't know if you saw me thread the other day on having two channels of memory in an AMD64 motherboard, but basically it looks like there may be issues with it, try checking it with just 1 stick of memory for a bit?.

    try a bit more vdimm,that mem would be fine with 3v,sounds like mem errors to me so try memtest or memtest86,if it happened while playing games i'd say turn fast writes off but is not...apart from that i'm not familiar with the a64 so i can't really help sorry
