Heh, unfortunately it wasn't for me

I'm running a Barton 3200+ and 1.5gb of RAM as my gaming machine, with an Athlon 2000+ and 1gb of RAM as my WinME Gaming machine (for the oldies, like Driver etc)

    Help you?

    More like spoon fed.

So far suggested Motherboard, RAM, Graphics, PSU, and Hard Disk. AND, hopefully steered him away from the monstrosity of a case he was going to buy....

Nice machine, I've also just built a very similar one!

Antec P182 (what a great case)
    Asus P5K Deluxe
    E4300 @ 3ghz w/ Scythe Ninja
    Corsair XMS2 2gb
    EVGA ASC3 8800GTS KO 320mb
    Corsair HX 520w

It is possible to mount the Scythe fan on the side of the heatsink to blow towards the back, you just need to "pull" it as high up the heatsink as possible (obviously without bending the fins). You can raise it a good 1 - 2cm from it's normal position without any problems, giving enough clearance to have RAM in DIMM 1.

The top fan on my P182 arrived with a really nasty clicking problem, a quick email to Antec and they're sending a replacement out straight away. Brilliant case and brilliant service from them

I have got a throbbing dislike for the lack of toolless pci slots on the case, what about hdd and opticals, are they toolless? If not what a shame as it would be great with those, also does it use thumbscrews on the panels or not?

The case should have a distinguishing feature at the front (like the Coolermaster Centaurion 5 with its silver and the grills with the rest being all black), so in terms of design its not great looking. The system looks powerful, but how much noise does it make?

I've got the same system. All you get is the faint hum from the 8800.

I think they just made it understated for mass market appeal..you can always modify the front..its only plastic.
