Cooler for Socket 754

Afternoon All!

As the title really. Im looking into a system with a A64 3200+, just need to know what heatsink i can use.
From mobo pics it looks as though it uses the 4 lugs like a P4 HSF, so would something like a ThermalRight SP-94 go on?

Unfortunately the P4 heatsink mounts and the A64 heatsink mounts are different. The only HSFs that come to mind are the Zalman CNPS7000 series (either aluminium and copper mixed or a solid copper 'sink). They use a 92mm fan and include a controller. They're pretty tall IIRC too but then I doubt you'll be using a mini tower with the PSU above the CPU socket if you're going to shell out the cash for a new A64 system...

Most of the A64's I've seen on the net are retail (includes HSF)...

i dont normally trust the supplied Heatsinks as theyre generally the cheapest crappiest one the manufacturer could get hold of

Those stock ones aren't so bad to tide you over till one of these makes it over here.

The stock HS's that come with the current AMD's are not bad at all. Just built a system for the inlaws using a XP2600 and a stock heatsink on a A7N8X and the temp never goes above 40c idle and thats the diode temp as well
