    New keyboard and mouse

My dad is going to use the old computer but I need to buy a new keyboard and mouse for my new computer now. I am looking to spend around the 20 pound mark exc VAT because I am buying from Scan. I do not want something rubbish and if wirelles I would prefer it to be rechargeable.

To be honest youll struggle to get a decent gaming/high performance set-up for £20 as most decent mouses cost that alone..

for a good value set try:
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...roductID=80127

although if you could get the buget up a bit to around £30ish+ you could get a decent media keyboard, thats comfortable to work with and spend the majority on a decent mouse. have a look at these:

I can whole heartedly recommend this: http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=365025

It's really well made and very comfy, especially if you spend any amount of time typing.

If you're serious about gaming keyboards and mice then £20 just isn't enough so I'd be tempted to go with a decent, cheap setup:

    - Logitech Classic Keyboard ~ £6.99

    Or as tigerboyce recommended...

    - Logitech Media Keyboard ~ £8.46

And then my personal favourite mouse:

    - Logitech Wheel Optical Mouse ~ £4.92

I know plenty of people who run very similar setups and they can still whipe the floor with me at CSS.

Really I just want it to work well and feel comfortable. If it makes it any easier I could probably go up to 30 pounds.

I'd go for the Logitech Media Keyboard as recommended above (the classic has a small backspace key - urgghhh!!) and a Logitech LX7 Cordless Mouse (£28 delivered from Amazon) or the Razer (above) if you're a really keen gamer. Personally I like the freedom of cordless.

Probably the logitech media keyboard and the logitech VX1000 maybe. I'm still not sure on the mouse the keyboard seems pretty set though. What do you think of this http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=282375 . I liked the look of it and its logitech so it will be quality.

For gaming though does the split keyboard make it a bit weird?

I've always gone with wired mouses cos I've had this sensation of "Mouse-Lag" when using wireless mouses. I know this is probably all in my head but Wired mouses seem more responsive or something when I'm playin CS:S. I've been using some Labtec mouse that i got in Argos (!) for like 15 euros that i perform better with than most of the 60 euro mice i've used in gaming cafes. anyhoo, i guess i'm trying to say is that any optical/laser mouse will do as well as anyother once you get comfortabel with it

I think I should just stop being pedantic and just buy the mouse and keyboard.

I'd normally vouch for the Ergonomic 4000 listed above (I have 2), but they aren't everyone's cup of tea.

For a more standard set that's cordless, I'd grab the MS Desktop 6000 Keyboard & 5000 Mouse - I recently bought a couple for systems I was setting up, and they're really great value. Only complaint would be that they're not rechargeable (though they do use standard AA batteries, and the included set are lasting eons), and in your case it's £10 over budget.

Highly recommended if the ergos just won't cut it for them.
