    Is the "Asus P5B-VM iG965, S775" ok?

Hi all. I'm helping price up a PC for my mate. He wants a good, fast, PC for gaming, but he wants everything as cheap as possible.

For the motherboard, I've got a Gigabyte DS4 so I don't know anything about the Asus motherboards. I looked at them all, and the best one looked like the "Asus P5B-VM iG965, S775".

Its got everything he needs and yet it doesn't look like a cheap-o rubbishy one. But I just wanted to double check here. Is it ok? He is getting an E6600, and might overclock sometime (probably to about 3ghz or so). But he isn't a hardcore overclocker or anything, demanding 4ghz

p.s. Anyone with an Antec Nine Hundred case have anything bad to say about it? I had a hard time suggesting a case, but I suggested that Antec Nine Hundred. I use an Akasa Eclipse 62 but I'm not a big fan really... It comes without fans, so if you added a pair of fans to the price of this case... its basically £100 Thats expensive I think. Although it is fairly solid. I suggested it to my friend anyway, because I said cheap cases might not fit an 8800GTX, and might be cheap and plasticy and probably won't have good air flow.

that MOBO is a very good choice, but unless you need the onboard VGA why not just go for the normal P5B?

or i am currently running a board that is very similar in terms of performance and price, a DS3:

As for te antec 900 i would highly reccomend the case, theres plenty of room, loads of airflow and its very good looking. the 8800 easily fits too so you wont have any problems there

Thats a uATX board, so, unless he actually needs uATX, he would be better off with an ATX model...something like this maybe.

Thank you I just figured the extra £4 might be worth it for the onboard VGA, incase he ever has trouble with his graphics card and needs it either temporarily, or for trouble shooting. But I can suggest both anyway. I really like Gigabyte, so I'll suggest that DS3 too. Like I said, I use a DS4 and I love it, although my northbridge runs fairly warm so I wondered whether the DS3 would be ok without the heatsink on the northbridge. But its popular so maybe he would be better off with that. I'll suggest it to him anyway.

Thanks again. Nice speedy good advice

Hmm. I might have to tell him to get ttat one I did see that one, but because it wasn't in stock, I just chose the next best one they had available. Hopefully he can wait until they get that in again though.
