CPU coolers compatible with a Gigabyte DS4

I am building a new computer at the moment with

    Intel 6600
    Gigabyte DS4
2 Gigs of RAM (haven't yet seen the compatibility list)
Tagan 530 Easy Connect and probably an entry Level 8800.

It's a general purpose PC and for the beginning I won't be overclocking it (I know it makes the DS4 seem like an overkill) but I might change plans later.

I 've noticed the heatpipes on the DS4 are occupying some room around the CPU base so I wonder whether there are any compatibility issues with the fairly large heatsinks like the Scythe Ninja etc.

What are the Heatsink models that have succesfully been fitted with the motherboard? And what do you think of them? I know that Conroes don't run as hot as my prescott 3.0 but I almost fried this with the stock cooler and got a Coolermaster Hyper 48 and don't plan to leave the new 300 euro chip with stock cooling this time either.

    Thank's in advance,

    Gabe.

Unless you turn off the protection in the BIOS, you supposedly cannot fry these.

There's a video (on Tomshardware IIRC) where they actually completely remove the heatsink while running Quake and the game just slows down as the CPU is throttled back.

I'm running a Zalman 9700NT on my P35-DS4, heaps of room! Awesome cooler too.
Running my E6420 @ 3.4Ghz, max temp so far is 54 degrees with Prime95 running 12 hours. Idle temps are around 24, room temp is 20 degrees (love winter for overclocking )
