Q6700 support

I'm going to buy a Q6700 and i was wondering which motherboard supports it and is better

Where are you getting the Q6700 from? Or did you mean QX6700?

Anyway, unless you REALLY need SLI, avoid the 680I chipset, because, not only is buggy as hell, it is also slower than the 965 and P35 chipsets, which both support quad core well, although the P35 is the better of the two.

I'm going to buy it at the end of june. Its going to be released on the 22nd of june

but I can only choose from those two and I thought I would get the XFX as I'm also getting the 8800 Ultra XFX

so what do you think? the XFX or Intel ? and will they support the Q6700 ?

If you only have one graphics card, there isnt much point in buying an SLI board.

No, its ok, was me, i thought you meant two CPUs.

To be honest, I wouldnt recommend either of those boards.

I live in Egypt buy I'm buying the CPU from the USA and I can't ask the same person to also carry the mobo.
The only two mobo that said anything about Quad Core support on the box were these two. So I just want to know if they really support it and which is better

The 680i chipset is buggy, with quite a lot of unresolved problems.

Out of the two you mention, I would go for the Gigabyte, but I would see if you can get hold of a P35 based board as the quad core support is better.

Yep, that was written on 20th Novermber 2006, and on paper the 680i looks great, but in reality, it can be horrible to use.

A good place to have a look at the 680i problems, are the evga forums..or google 680i problems
