36cm case fan - Gimmick or worthwhile?

Just finalising purchase of new machine from the one and only Scan, and have decided to purchase a case, just to keep that 'new' feel about it. I came across a case that literally looks like it has a house fan taped to the side of it and was wondering if this would actually do anything...

Still under 5 posts, so no direct linking yet, but the Scan code is: LN18565

I thought choice of case would be pretty much a personal thing based on aesthetics, but several board members seem to favour the Antek NSK4000, is there a reason for this? (I don't mind purchasing additional case fans)

PSU is already taken care of, whilst primary system specs are Core2Duo E6600, and a 256MB Sapphire Radeon X1950GT. (overclocking not important)

    Cheers,
    Colin

I don't like that big fan, I'd liken it to trying to peel an orange with a chainsaw but it might work..I havn't read an rewiews on it.

This one is of interest but only if you needed to do some serious graphics cooling really. Theres no decent reviews around of these cases with big side panel fans so I can't tell you if they actually do any good.

Antec p182 is the case for me.

Simplifying things, it's not a gimmick if what comes out equals what goes in without creating positive or negative pressure.

Have a look on silentpcreview.com, I think one of the guys has done a review of a similar case/fan, I think the guys name is "Felger Carbon"
