E6600 overheating...
Built a new system around the Christmas period and recently (yesterday) I decided to do some overclocking, but on checking the temperatures at idle with no overclock i have temperatures of 46C and upto 58C on stress from Intel's TAT. I have checked the temperature with Core Temp as well.
See my system specs, but I have a Noctua U12F and two other Noctua 120mm blowing air in and out. The case is the akasa mirage (which is a good cooler). So why the hell am i getting such high temperatures at 2.4GHz? I just reseated the CPU cooler and removed some paste (thinking that i could have had too much) but this only brought the temp down by around a degree
Any suggestions? Have any of you guys had this problem?

When you removed the paste...did you completely clean all the old stuff off and reapply new?

Nah, I removed the cooler, cleaned all the paste off the bottom of it, then placed it back down on the CPU which still had paste on.

That wont work, you need to clean and reapply new.
