gaming rig specs that I want you to check

I'm building this computer as a celebration that my exams are over (for this year at least) and so I want to build a AMD/ATI computer with maximum upgrability and performance. I also need it quickly as my current computer is freezing up on me because of a bad motherboard part. So instead of try to replace this part I'm giving all my computer parts to another computer and building my own

I've been looking all over scan and here's the parts I've found:
    (Ex VAT)
    Case: Gigabyte Aurora 570 £91.88
    Cooling:Gigabyte 3D Galaxy II Water-Cooling £67.95
    Motherboard: Asus M2R32-MVP £66.49
    CPU: AM2 Athlon 64 6000+ OEM £103.99
    RAM: 4Gb (2x2Gb) CorsairTwinX XMS2, DDR2 PC2-6400 £139.64
    Video card: 512MB Sapphire HD2900XT £219.99
    Soundcard:X-Fi Xtreme Gamer Fatal1ty Professional £74.89
    PSU:Enermax EG1000EWLDXX Galaxy £189.99
    DVD drive: Asus DRW-1814BLT £18.85
Hard Drive: 320 Gb HGST HDT725032VLA360 Deskstar £41.16
OS: Vista Ultimate 64Bit OEM £96.49
    Floppy: Old computer
    Mouse: Razer Deathadder £33.49
    With exactMat £16.95
Monitor: 19" LG L1900R (the R stands for Ring) £155.99

    Sub Total: £1,317.75
    Full Total: £1,573.68

And to top it off I think I will preorder QW to bring it up to £1,600-ish. So What do you think?

You could build a much better Intel machine for the same if not less..

Check out the almost identical threads going on at the moment.

The AMD 6000+ is just about better than a Core 2 Duo e6600 at stock settings but the AMD doesn't have a lot of room to overclock.

The intel will overclock to 3.0Ghz without even knowing you've done it.

Looks fairly decent, but definately go intel with that sort of budget.

The psu is complete overkill, nock £100 off the price and you'll find something more than adequate.
With that monitor, a 320meg 8800gts would offer better performance.

you would also be quite stupid to download vista from there, its likely to be extremely buggy, contain viruses, and you wont get support..

1kW PSU definite overkill unless you're planning on overclocking that to the max, getting a second HD2900 for Crossfire, and then getting a full watercooling loop on top of that.

A quality 500w is fine for a single card, or 600w if you want to be safe.

Might be better to look for a different case as well, much better available for much cheaper.

Intel vs AMD for the E6600 vs 6000+ is also down to personal preference. Nothing to stop you going for the 6000 if you want - cheaper mobo options as well

From looking at M4's original spec it looks as if he'll be overclocking... in which case an E6600 would be the best choice.

I could be wrong though... ?

Considering the version I downloaded is like any other version, I get full Windows Update support and it's a recovery disc rip from Dell (with valid serial), I hardly find how your statement is true.

From the Forum Rules "No warez or piracy discussions at all, this includes illegal peer2peer and BitTorrent files discussion"

And yes, of course it's illegal to download copyrighted material because you're violating the EULA which is a legally binding contract.
