    Different core temps on E6600

    Hi

Is it normal for the 2 core temps on the e6600 to different?

One is idling at 23/24c and the other at 29/30c (as displayed in coretemp, TAT shows them as 25/27c & 30c)

Running orthos one reaches 39c and the other reaches 42c and running TAT one reaches 45c and the other reaches 48c

I'm using a Freezer 7 pro, which I am sure is on correctly as this is my first build and I checked it thoroughly

    I have it running @ 400x8 1.32 vcore (thanks clunk )

Mobo is asus commando and ram is corsair pc 6400 4-4-4-12

I'm not too keen on re-applying the cpu cooler tho, as it's a bit tight in the antec 900 (I have big hands ). I have AS5 and MX-1 paste tho, so if I do need to do it, which one should I use?

    Cheers

    mish o/

Yes, its normal...your temps arent really that far apart..some are much more.

Both of those pastes are fine, I like AS5 myself.

Edit: just noticed the 45 and 48c, thats about average, definately nothing to worry about.

yup a difference of 3degrees is normal.
I've built two core2duo systems, and in all cases (idle/load) there will be around 3degrees difference..
I've seen this for two c2d cpus.

    not to worry.
