MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum
Gigabyte 6600GT
2x 512 DDR 4000
XP 3200
Hyper 530 psu

I have a issue were I am not getting any VGA fro the hardware above, just started one day with no changes, I have stripped it all down and had it laid out to check for contact issues ect, the only thing that I have noticed that when I left it sitting for 30 minutes just running that the NB HS gets hot but the CPU HS stays cold

No beeps at all to give me any ideas

Check your monitor is working with an alternative feed. Depending on your setup and the equipment available, this may be faster than the next step. If not, check the next step first, then do this. Obviously you do need to confirm this

Swap out your graphics card for a replacement one. Any old card will do, even an ancient PCI based one. If it works, it's fairly certain that your 6600GT is dead. Test it in another system if possible to make sure.

The lack of POST beeps is a little worrying and might indicate a bigger problem. Just keep on stripping components out or replacing them, one at a time. It's scary when your computer dies, but with methodical investigation it should not be too hard to determine what needs fixing. Just stay calm, and take small steps.

I have had this before wih a very similar setup. im afraid to inform you that my cpu was blown :/ makes sense if the cpu heatsink isnt hot at all. These CPUs where extremely prone to burning out very quickly so i think you may have to find a donor computer and check it all out.

Had the same problem back with my XP 2400+, CPU was deaded .

The monitior is fine, I have my P3 connected to it fine, if it is the CPU its prob the cheapest part to replace of of them all

You say XP3200, with that motherboard isn't that going to be an Athlon64 3200? They tend to be more robust and point more of a finger at the motherboard.

Oh yeah well spotted Unix. You sure thats the correct motherboard & CPU?? the 64s are way more robust. If it is then i would take everything apart and ensure there is no heatpaste on the bottom joining any of the pins on the cpu as this can cause dead boot.

It does sound like the best way for you to check your system is find a freind with a similar machine and swap componants till you find the fault.

Um yeah, me bad it's a 3200 64, everything has been stripped down and cleaned up, new AS applyed ect

With CPU problems, make sure to carefully check the pins and the seating of the module and HSF.

After moving last year, I had a similar issue. It turns out that the HSF had become dislodged, and in doing so had allowed the CPU to move and get a pin bent out of alignment. Simply carefully bending the pin straight and reseating the CPU and HSF restored this old thing to full working order

plenty of good value pci-e cards about - a nice x1950 could be a great purchase

Not sure, not alot of spare cash so prob have to go second hand
