HTPC - Able To Record Sky ?

Just a quick question tbh.

Is an HTPC only able to record Freeview Channels ? I'm in the process of building one and was wondering if there was a way of recording my Sky Programmes without resorting to Sky+ or a Dedicated PVR.

I'm assuming a normal Dual Tuner card won't be up to the job ? Does anyone have any suggestions ?

My original idea was to go for the KWorld PE310 which recently won the PCW Labs Test. Just noticing that this has an S-Video in, obviously this doesn't carry sound but would it let me record a video feed (such as sky) ? And if i connected the sound to an Audio in port would I be able to sync it up that way for recording ? Or do i just have completely the wrong idea ?

Using an analogue capture is the usual way to record from Sky with a HTPC.

Any media center type software worth it's salt is going to be able to control your sky box using IR senders. Even MCE can do this.
